The possibilities for cooperation between users and specialist machine manufacturers are far-reaching: they start with an in-depth understanding of the process and range from the development of the perfect powder formulation to system design for continuous manufacturing. At ACHEMA 2024, the team of experts from Fette Compacting will be presenting a new knowledge database, digitally-supported analysis instruments from the laboratory, a continuous direct compression line, the tablet presses of the new i-series, and comprehensive system solutions for tableting tools. Leap in performance with continuous direct compression The FE CPS (Continuous Processing System) forms a central technical basis. Thanks to its process-related advantages, the continuous manufacturing process is becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to the batch-to-batch process. At Fette Compacting, the focus is on direct compression, whose wide range of applications can be combined with space- and resource-saving system planning and precise process control. Together with a tablet press and an operating terminal, the system forms a fully-continuous direct compression line. It processes a wide range of ingredients in a throughput range from five to over 200 kilograms per hour. This makes it a highly flexible solution for a wide range of application scenarios. The continuous powder flow is controlled by embedded process analysis technology (ePAT). The sensors for near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) are built into the process units and allow real-time monitoring of the product flow. NIRS detects most active ingredients through deep, but damagefree penetration of the rays – with ultra-short measurement times. Turnkey and proven system Product trials by a global pharmaceutical company have confirmed that the FE CPS offers a turnkey and easyto-use solution to the challenges of modern tablet production. This has made it possible to achieve stable and consistent product quality for an OTC product while at the same time simplifying the formulation. The compactness of the unit, which can be integrated into existing production areas on just one level, was particularly convincing. Dafür stellt das Expertenteam von Fette Compacting auf der ACHEMA 2024 eine neue Wissensdatenbank, digital gestützte Analyseinstrumente aus dem Labor, eine kontinuierliche Direktverpressungslinie, die Tablettenpressen der neuen i Serie und umfangreiche Systemlösungen für Tablettierwerkzeuge vor. Leistungssprung mit kontinuierlicher Direktverpressung Eine zentrale technische Grundlage bildet das kontinuierliche System FE CPS (Continuous Processing System). Das Verfahren des Continuous Manufacturing setzt sich dank seiner prozesstechnischen Vorteile immer stärker als Alternative zum Batch-to-Batch-Verfahren durch. Bei Fette Compacting liegt der Schwerpunkt auf der Direktverpressung, deren breiter Anwendungsbereich mit einer raum- und ressourcenschonenden Anlagenplanung sowie mit einer präzisen Prozesskontrolle kombinierbar ist. Zusammen mit einer Tablettenpresse und einem Bedienterminal bildet das System eine vollständige kontinuierliche Direktverpressungslinie. Es verarbeitet ein breites Spektrum an Inhaltsstoffen in einem Durchsatzbereich von fünf bis über 200 Kilogramm pro Stunde. Damit erweist es sich als hochflexible Lösung für verschiedenste Anwendungsszenarien. Den stetigen Pulverfluss kontrolliert eine eingebettete Prozessanalysetechnik (ePAT). Die Sensoren für die Nahinfrarotspektroskopie (NIRS) sind in die Prozesseinheiten eingebaut und erlauben eine Echzeitkontrolle im Produktfluss. NIRS erfasst die meisten Wirkstoffe durch ein tiefes, aber beschädigungsfreies Eindringen der Strahlen – bei ultrakurzen Messzeiten. Schlüsselfertiges und bewährtes System Produktversuche eines globalen Pharmaunternehmens bestätigten, dass die FE CPS eine schlüsselfertige und leicht bedienbare Lösung für die Herausforderungen der modernen Tablettenproduktion bietet. So ließ sich bei einem OTC-Produkt eine stabile und konsistente Produktqualität bei gleichzeitig vereinfachter Formulierung erreichen. Besonders überzeugend war die Kompaktheit der Einheit, die sich auf nur einer Ebene in bestehende Produktionsräume integrieren lässt.
