Control 2017
W
ith more than 939
exhibitors
from
over 31 countries,
31% of whom come from out-
side of Germany, the Control
international trade fair for
quality assurance is firming
up its recognised reputation
as a global industry meet.
Numerous
manufacturers
and distributors from around
the globe will exhibit world’s
firsts at the 31st Control, and
will present their companies
and services to the demand-
ing expert audience.
And it doesn’t stop there,
because Control has distin-
guished itself for many years
with a world-class supple-
mentary programme for which
longstanding
collaboration
partners have been assuming
responsibility for just as long.
These include, for example,
the Fraunhofer Institute IPA
with its Event Forum and the
Fraunhofer Vision Alliance
with its special show cover-
ing “Contactless Measuring
Technology”. The Fraunhofer
Institute IPA will participate at
Control already for the tenth
time with its special activities.
The DGQ with its workshops,
the Business France collec-
tive booth und the European
Machine Vision Association
(EMVA) with its “Vision Talks”
are also amongst the partners
who will dedicate themselves
to the issue of quality assur-
ance together with Control
initiator and promoter P. E.
Schall GmbH & Co. KG.
Not least of all, the presenta-
tion of the Baden-Württemberg
Competence Award, which will
take place for the tenth time
in 2017, also deserves consid-
erable attention, because the
TQU and the trade fair pro-
moter work together success-
fully in this regard and it will
be exciting to see who goes
home with the award this year.
Accompanied by the highly
popular exhibitor forum which
is booked out every year, as
well as “Happy Friday” which
will take place for the first time,
the supplementary programme
will be one of the central ele-
ments at Control 2017. Just
how important a technically
oriented platform of this sort is
in actual practice for presenta-
tions, talks and interdiscipli-
nary information procurement
– above and beyond the intro-
duction of new products and
solutions – was recently made
plainly apparent by the recent
recommendation of the inter-
national G3-Initiative consor-
tium regarding directive VDI/
VDE/VDMA 2632, sheet 2.
After careful examination, the
G3-Initiative, consisting of
important associations ac-
tive in the field of industrial
image processing, amongst
others the US association
AIA, the China Machine Vision
Union (CMVU), the European
Machine Vision Association
(EMVA), the Japan Industrial
Imaging Association (JILA)
and the German Engineering
Association (VDMA), decided
to recommend adoption of the
directive as a G3 standard by
association members, as had
also been the case in the past
with EMVA 1288, GenICam,
Camera Link and GigE Vi-
sion. The directive provides a
guideline for the preparation
of a requirement specification
for stand-alone and complete
solutions within the broad-
ranging field of industrial
image processing systems.
Project partners are thus pro-
vided with a basis upon which
services and interfaces can be
clarified.
The 31st Control international
trade fair for quality assur-
ance will take place in halls 3,
4, 5, 6 and 7 at the Stuttgart
Exhibition Centre from the
9th through the 12th of May,
2017.
